About
Who we are
Dub Haven is a software consultancy and product studio focused on the cannabis industry. We design, build, and operate the systems that run dispensaries, cultivations, processors, and brands — from point-of-sale platforms to compliance pipelines to customer-facing web experiences. Our team combines deep engineering experience with operational fluency in regulated markets.
Our flagship product, Dub Ledger, is a point-of-sale and retail operations platform built from the ground up for regulated cannabis retail. It competes with legacy systems like Cova and Dutchie, but without the retrofit baggage — because we started with cannabis compliance, not mainstream retail.
Dub Haven operates as a remote-first consultancy with team members across multiple states. Our backgrounds span retail operations, compliance, enterprise software engineering, and regulated market strategy. We have built systems inside dispensaries, cultivation facilities, and delivery operations — not just from conference rooms. That operational fluency is what differentiates our recommendations from generic vendor advice.
Why cannabis
Cannabis is one of the most technically interesting industries in the world. State-by-state regulation, banking restrictions, METRC tracking, delivery logistics, and a constantly shifting compliance landscape create problems that generic SaaS cannot solve well. Operators deserve tools built by people who understand those constraints — not consultants who learned the industry from a slide deck.
We also believe the industry is maturing. The operators who survive the next five years will be the ones with durable, compliant, data-rich systems. We want to build those systems with them. Our clients range from single-location dispensaries to multi-state operators with complex integration needs, and we treat every engagement with the same operational rigor.
Operating principles
Ship what matters.
We do not build for decks or demos. Every feature ships because an operator asked for it, or because compliance demands it. If a line of code does not serve a real user or a real regulation, it does not get written.
Compliance is a system, not a promise.
We build compliance-aware technology and partner with your counsel. We do not guarantee outcomes we cannot control. What we guarantee is that our systems are designed with audit trails, data integrity, and regulatory change in mind from day one.
Talk like a peer.
No corporate throat-clearing, no vendor lock-in rhetoric. We speak to operators the way engineers speak to each other — direct, specific, and honest about trade-offs. If we think an off-the-shelf tool is the right answer, we will say so.
Own the stack.
We prefer open-source, portable infrastructure. If you ever leave us, you keep your code and your data. No proprietary black boxes, no hostage pricing, no exit fees.
What we are not
Dub Haven does not sell, distribute, or handle cannabis. We are a software and consulting business. We do not provide legal advice, compliance guarantees, or investment recommendations. We build the systems; your compliance counsel and regulators define the rules.
Operations & trust
Dub Haven is a remote-first, US-based consultancy. We do not maintain a physical office — our team works across multiple time zones and travels to client sites when needed. Our infrastructure is hosted on Cloudflare and Vercel, with analytics data retained for 26 months and then purged automatically.
What we commit to
- Audit trails by default. Every system we build logs what changed, who changed it, and when.
- You own your code and data. On final payment per our terms, the codebase and operational data are yours. No exit fees, no proprietary lock-in.
- Open, portable infrastructure. We default to PostgreSQL, open-source frameworks, and standards-based integrations so you can leave us if you ever need to.
- Compliance-aware engineering. We integrate with METRC and adapt to state-by-state regulatory change as a first-class engineering concern, not an afterthought.
- Defined data retention. Operational analytics retained 26 months, then purged. Privacy details on our /legal/privacy page.

Mike Berardi
Technical Co-Founder & Advisor
Mike is the technical co-founder and advisor at Dub Haven. He builds the systems, platforms, and infrastructure that power our work. As the technical lead at Liberty Design Studio (libertydesign.studio), he ships production software for regulated and complex businesses. His background spans web engineering, data systems, infrastructure, and operational tooling. He is the person making the architectural calls, writing the code that runs in production, and advising on technical strategy. Everything else is a spec — Mike makes it real.
