An independent dispensary: Google impressions nearly doubled in a month

The starting point
An audit before the work scored the site low on mobile speed, and it was light on the pages that local searchers look for. Cannabis advertising restrictions meant search and the Google listing were the main ways new customers could find the store.
What we did
- Rebuilt the site on an edge-hosted stack and checked it page by page against the old site to keep existing URLs and content
- Built distinct local pages for the communities the store serves, each with its own content and structured data
- Added LocalBusiness, breadcrumb, FAQ and article structured data that matches what is visible on each page
- Published five new educational pages in August and updated internal links across 24 existing articles
- Set up a monthly approval workflow so no article publishes without the owner signing off
- Reported every month from Search Console, Analytics and the store's own order tracking
How to read these numbers
Impressions, clicks and position come from Google Search Console for the client's property (US web search), comparing the calendar months of July and August 2026. The count of searches where the site averaged the top 3 covers non-branded searches that Google discloses, using each search's average position for the month. Pickup orders are the store's own tracked online pickup orders. The five new pages were published on August 20, so they had only part of a month of data and these numbers cannot show their full effect. The figures do not prove that our work caused the change. Results depend on the market, the competition and many other factors, and past results do not guarantee future ones.
What is still being worked on
Search visibility kept growing through September: in the latest 30 days non-branded impressions were up 58% on the 30 days before. Clicks in that stretch were roughly flat, and the site moved to a new stack on September 25, so the click rate is the number we are focused on next.
